Help Young Artists Do Remarkable Things

Talent is wonderful. Opportunity is even better. Being part of the ABOP Associate Programme is a commitment. Members and their families contribute, young performers raise money themselves and ABOP puts in what it can too.

But theatre has a habit of costing money. Travel. Costumes. Production costs. Venues. The many, many things that somehow appear when you decide to put on a show. That’s why we’re lucky to have the support of generous individuals and organisations who believe that talented young people should have the opportunity to experience what theatre can really be. Your support helps remove some of the financial barriers that can stand between a young artist and the next opportunity. On stage. Behind the scenes. In the rehearsal room. As a performer, practitioner, technician, designer or creative artist. Because potential is one thing. Giving it somewhere to go is another.

What Happens When You Donate?

Do you know that feeling when you watch a show and something just clicks? A moment that makes you laugh. Or catches you completely off guard. A performance that stays with you on the journey home. Or perhaps you’ve been part of something that made you feel connected to everyone else in the room — strangers for an hour or two, all sharing the same story. That’s the magic we want young performers to experience. By becoming a Friend of the Young Actors Programme, you’re helping make those experiences possible. You’re helping young people step onto stages, work alongside other artists, take creative risks and discover what they’re capable of. And who knows? You might just be helping create the performer, director, designer or theatre-maker who is going to make your next unforgettable night at the theatre. Not a bad thing to be part of.

Sponsorship

An investment in creativity, community and culture. Great theatre doesn’t happen by accident. It takes people, ideas, time, energy, imagination — and occasionally an alarming amount of gaffer tape. Our sponsors help make it happen.

Your support helps us bring ambitious performances and creative projects to audiences while giving young artists the opportunity to develop, create and perform. It’s a chance to support emerging talent, contribute to the cultural life of our communities and put your organisation behind something genuinely creative. Because supporting the arts isn’t simply about putting your name on a poster. It’s about helping create the next story. The next performer. The next idea. The next moment when the lights go up and something rather wonderful happens.

Develop Cultural Growth

Sometimes the simplest way to make a difference is simply to say, “I’ll help.”

You can make a donation of any amount to support members of the Young Actors Company and help make ABOP projects more accessible to young performers. Every contribution helps with the costs of making theatre — and, more importantly, helps ensure that a lack of money doesn’t become a reason for a young person to miss out.

Small, large, occasional or wonderfully generous — it all helps. And we’re very grateful for every bit of it.

Nurture Future Talent

There’s nothing quite like watching someone discover what they can do.

Your support helps young theatre-makers take part in development projects, work with experienced practitioners and discover where their creativity might take them. An annual donation helps provide the time, space and opportunities for young performers to grow — not just as actors, but as artists, collaborators and people. You never quite know where a young talent might go. But you can help give them somewhere to start.

Spark Artistic Ambition

Talent is only the beginning.

The next generation of performers need opportunities to learn, experiment, perform and occasionally get things gloriously wrong. Your sponsorship supports one young actor’s membership of the Young Actors Company for an entire year, helping give them access to training, performance opportunities and creative development.

It’s a chance to invest directly in a young performer and help turn ambition into experience.

One young actor. One year. A whole lot of possibility.

Champion Live Performance

The best way to learn about performance is to perform.

Your support helps create more opportunities for young actors to experience the real thing — the rehearsal room, the backstage nerves, the lights going up and that wonderfully strange moment when an audience is suddenly there. Live performance builds confidence, develops skills and teaches things that simply can’t be learnt from a textbook. Every donation helps put young performers where they belong: On their feet. Under the lights. Making it happen.

Connect With New Audiences

Good theatre brings people together. Good partnerships can do the same.

Sponsoring the Young Actors Company gives your organisation the opportunity to support emerging talent while connecting with the audiences who come to experience their work. It’s a chance to put your name alongside ambitious creative projects, support young performers and become part of the cultural life of the communities we work in. Our young companies create work with energy, ambition and plenty of personality — and our audiences come along for the ride. You help make the work happen. We help put your organisation in the room.

Beyond the Stage

Because sometimes the show doesn’t quite end when the curtain comes down.

Supporting theatre merchandise gives your organisation another way to be part of an ABOP production — putting your brand directly into the hands of audiences and giving it a life beyond the final performance. It’s a simple, memorable way to connect with people who have chosen to spend their evening with us. Your support helps young performers make the work. Your brand becomes part of the experience. And long after the applause has faded, there’s still something to take home. A rather nice souvenir of a very good evening — and of the people who helped make it possible.
