2027 PROJECT
Performed in over 140 countries Eve Ensler's hilarious, eye-opening tour into the last frontier, the forbidden zone at the heart of every woman is a show that's rocked audiences around the world. Giving a voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, and thoroughly human stories, transforming the question mark hovering over the anatomy into a permanent victory sign. With laughter and compassion The Vagina Monologues is a worldwide phenomenon. Much more than a dramatic script, the play is a cultural event, studied, workshopped and performed hundreds of times each year.

Bold, funny, honest and unapologetic, TVM shines a spotlight on stories that are too often left untold. Drawn from real conversations with women, these powerful monologues explore love, sex, identity, pleasure, pain, courage and everything in between.
For nearly three decades, this groundbreaking play has sparked conversations, challenged taboos and celebrated the diversity of women's experiences.
The Vagina Monologues has become less theatrical phenomenon
and more an evangelical crusade.
For over 15 years, ABOP has enjoyed a close connection with TVM, with many of our facilitators and members taking to the stage in performances across the UK to mark International Women's Day.
In 2027, Women's Works will bring this iconic, fearless, unapologetically bold and provocative piece of Theatre to local audiences, combining the power of performance with community spirit. The show will showcase the talent, energy and dedication of the women involved while raising valuable funds for local charities and causes.
More than a performance, TVM will be a celebration of creativity, collaboration and the unforgettable impact theatre can have on those who experience it.

International Women’s Day has been around for over 100 years. A global celebration of the achievements, contributions and resilience of women and girls. Taking place each year on 8 March, it provides an opportunity to recognise progress towards gender equality, celebrate inspiring women across all walks of life, and continue conversations around inclusion, opportunity and representation.
HOW TO GET INVOLVED
An Invitation to Perform
The project is designed for women aged 18+ with a wide range of performance experience — from those who regularly perform to those who have never stepped onto a stage.
Individuals can get involved in their own right or take part on behalf of a business, representing their organisation while supporting the production and the values it champions.
Individuals
Taking part in The Vagina Monologues is a chance to experience the excitement of live theatre, meet new people and be part of something special. Whether you’re an experienced performer or simply keen to try something new, you’ll help bring women’s stories to life through a powerful, entertaining and thought-provoking production. It’s an opportunity to challenge yourself creatively, have fun, build confidence and be part of a show that celebrates women’s voices and encourages important conversations.
Fees
As Women’s Works is a dedicated performance project, all participants pay a one-off project participation fee. This helps cover the costs of bringing the production to life and enables participants to be part of a unique theatrical experience, from the rehearsal process through to the final performance.
Businesses
Give a member of your team the opportunity to get involved in something a little different! By sponsoring a staff member to take part in The Vagina Monologues, your business can support their personal growth and creativity while helping bring an exciting, thought-provoking production to life. It’s a wonderful way to celebrate your team, support the arts and show your business’s commitment to the local community, all while being part of a production that champions women’s stories and experiences.
Fees
Supporting the arts is an investment in your business, your community and the visibility of issues that matter.
Whether you are a small independent business, a local employer or an established organisation, sponsorship offers a meaningful way to demonstrate your values, strengthen your connection with the local community and associate your business with a powerful, thought-provoking production.
Arts sponsorship also provides an opportunity to build relationships, raise awareness of your business and show that you recognise the value of creativity, culture and the people who make them possible.
By supporting a member of the cast, your business becomes part of something bigger than the production itself.
You are helping to bring an important work to the stage, championing women's stories and demonstrating that your business is willing to invest in the arts and the community it serves.
Auditions
There is no traditional, intimidating audition process.
Instead, interested participants will be invited to a Group Workshop. This informal session is an opportunity to:
-
Meet the production team and other participants.
-
Read through the script.
-
Take part in some drama and creative exercises.
-
Explore the material.
-
Ask questions about the project.
-
Get a feel for how the group will work together.
It is also an opportunity for the Production Team to see where each participant might contribute to the production, from individual performances to group pieces.
And yes — there will be coffee and cake.
Rehearsals
Participants will attend weekly ensemble rehearsals, with additional individual or small-group sessions arranged where needed.
Rehearsals will combine script work, performance exercises, character development, movement, vocal work and ensemble building.
The aim is to create a confident, supportive company while developing the production together.
Regular attendance is essential. Participants should therefore be able to commit to all scheduled rehearsals.
Location: To be confirmed.
There will be a scheduled break over the Christmas and New Year period.
Performances
The production will be presented across a number of performances between 6th and 8th March.
Full attendance at all scheduled performances is required.
Location: To be confirmed.
